Reclaimed Galvanized Chicken Nesting Box – Egg Laying Coop Box

This rustic reclaimed chicken nesting box is built from repurposed galvanized materials originally used in commercial applications and modified here in my shop for use in backyard coops and small farm setups.

Measuring approximately 24 inches long, 21 inches wide, and 13 inches deep, this size has proven especially effective for encouraging hens to settle comfortably and consistently in the nesting area. The galvanized construction gives it a durable, long-lasting structure with a naturally weathered industrial look.

This unit is available in two options. You can choose a plain nesting box, or select the version with a hand-finished front sign that reads “Ladies.” Please select your option from the dropdown menu when ordering.

Installation is simple and flexible. The box can be screwed directly to a wall, placed on a shelf, or set on the floor depending on your coop layout. Its versatile design makes it easy to integrate into almost any chicken-keeping setup.

Chickens take to these boxes very quickly, and the design has been refined through real-world use to encourage natural laying behavior while remaining easy for keepers to maintain and clean.

Each piece has its own character due to the reclaimed nature of the materials, ensuring no two are exactly alike.
